dirty politics

Post by khartoumteddy »

Isnt politics a terrible mess
no one wins arguments now at a guess
There once was distinction between left and right
policy arguments factual but tight
However now it just isnt fair
each side attacks policies that used to be theirs
All of them it seems wish to apply
more ourageous remedies to more extreme lies.

Lets look for a start at the NHS
Re organised every year at a guess
not to improve it at all in any way
but just so politicians can say
Its never really been at its best
The imorovements from us,"theirs was the mess"
Last year,no parking for commuters
This year,Unions,Long hours,Duff computers.

One lot it seems is the party of cuts
the others the party of "ifs and buts"
athird the lords of all creation
no wonder were a mixed up nation
pity us then in the middle were stuck
believing in neither spin or oration

Each mistrusts the others, with good reason it is clear
until of course some common enemy appears
All together lads come on lets mend our fences
Combine and cheat the nation in the matter of expences

No matter what party ties they had got
many had snouts firmly in the trough
from moats and duck houses to gardners and maids
Expenses can treble the wages their paid
we pay the bills not quite what was planned
for every concievable "con" in the land
and should we be cheeky and adsk them all why?
"the rules dont say you cant", the reply:

If I say i`m 65 and i can`t claim a bean
What makes M.Ps who represent me
so petty money-minded grasping and obscene
as a pensioner i get by mouth to hand
but these bstds live on the fat of the land.

What mistakes you`ve made we`ll see
in simply failing to agree;
For neither Conservative,Lib dem or Labour
has given this country what`s good to savour
yet whoever we may be the answers not the SNP
No BNP can save us it`s a sorry situation
Who believes these days in Proportional Representation

Could we but begin again, give it yet one more try
But there will still be Politicians,Statistics Theft and Lies.
