Who told you that Maggie?

There are currently no banned user names, no banned IPs and only a handful of (mostly Russian) banned e-mail addresses.

No active member has ever been deleted from this forum or even given a temporary ban. A very small number of warnings have been issued (two I think) and one or two people have had posts edited or deleted as they contravened the forum terms of use. That is normal on any forum. Anyone who cannot sign in for any reason has most definitely not been banned, and should contact me.

Your accusation is without foundation, and I respectfully request that you withdraw it immediately or produce tangible evidence to back it up. After all, it was you who started your post with the words 'to be honest'

Not really wanting to go off thread just as it was getting interesting but of course I withdraw my "accusation" about bannings, especially in view of your threat to edit my post contained in your recent email to me.

My mistake, I must have misinterpreted a previous email which you sent to my (soon to be ex-) partner, I quote:
"I have two choices - to shut the board down because I can't be bothered with it any more or to ban you.
Guess which course of action I will be taking?
If you don't like the way I run the board then there is nothing you can do about it I am afraid other than go away"
My mistake...sorry, we took that as a banning.

In the light of this comment - which I a,completely agree with - I have split the thread to remove this little spat to a separate corner, where it will hopefully sink swiftly and mercifully into oblivion.

No,. anyone who is banned will be told they are banned, with a reason and (usually) a time limit. This has not happened to anyone yet. If you are banned you will not be able to sign in. No-one who has registered is in that position, and anyone who for whatever reason thought they were would only have had to log in to see that they were mistaken.

It wasn't a threat, more a statement of intent. Let me make it clearer. Unfounded accusations against other forum members will not be tolerated. This applies to accusations made against any member of the forum. The moderators and I have exactly the same standing, expectations and rights as any other member in that respect.

I'm genuinly relieved Mr B as it is most certainly not my intention to fall out with you.
I can see that you are particularly concerned on our behalfs about the whole sewage works situation and do sypathise with you. I would guess that your next step may be to organise some kind of protest group and direct action. Although I am on the other side of the fence to your views I would, however, as recompense for the stress I obviously caused you regarding the bannings misunderstanding, like to volunteer my service as your personal secretary on your proposed action group. It would be my pleasure.

Blimey; thanks for clearing that up MacB and Maggie. I thought I was banned after two of my posts were simultaneously deleted at the start of this month (in fact a whole two page thread disappeared at the same time). I then found I couldn't log in and assumed I was banned until I read (as a lurker) this thread just now and tried logging in...hey presto.
Good to be back!
I suppose I must admit that my absence was my fault in jumping to a conclusion that her vicarliness was pissed off with one or other of my incisive comments.
So; all those threads I've been itching to add my commments to over the past month. Better put vaseline on my fingertips and brew a large pot of caffeine.
