i cant believe the atitude of some of you on here, the dog owner who thinks it is ok for there dog to do its busness in the rough for example. i hear the gofl course may ban dogs if things dont improve.

Sorry to disappoint you dog"lover" but the 2003 Land Reform Act did not exclude golf courses from open access (Right to Roam). Any attempt by the golf club, who are not the landowner actually, to ban dogs (and per se their walkers) would have most unfortunate consequences:
1. Oban lawyers would make a fair few bob enforcing the Act in favour of the dog walkers and the Golf Club (or, heaven forbid, the landowner) would have to pick up the considerable tab.
2. Our normally tranquil community would become divided.
3. Any attempt to enforce your proposed illegal ban would only lead to confrontation...incidentally, and hypothetically, how on earth could a ban be enforced?

The way forward to your problem is for responsible dogwalkers to point out, politely, the error of their ways to the recalcitrants when ever they are seen to allow to defacate on the course without removing the faeces.

Ah think the golf course members would themselves be divided. As far as ah can see, a few of the guys who dae maist o' the work oan ra greens etc hae dugs runnin' loose aw oer ra place whilst they're workin'. Nae plazzy bags in sicht either.
