This film predicts Scottish Independence before 2033

Post by Pentlandpirate »

Doomsday: this film predicts Scottish Independence before 2033. But i'm not quite sure this is the SNP's vision of the future.

Synopsis:

In an apocalyptic vision of the future, authorities brutally quarantine Scotland as it succumbs to fear and chaos when a virus strikes. The literal walling–off works for three decades – until the dreaded Reaper virus violently resurfaces in London. An elite group of specialists are urgently dispatched into the still quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare. Now, 27 years after the epidemic, groups of survivors are marauding through the streets of Glasgow and the virus has surfaced outside the wall. The British P.M. and his ruthless chief advisor, have decided to send a covert team into Scotland to search for a cure.

8) Scotland will attain the normal national state of self-government long before 2033, my friend, and it will do so partly because it's the logical and fair condition for any country - but also because England is currently disappearing up its political a**e.

In your fantastical scifi terms, Scotland has been in an apocalyptic state of brutal quarantine, deprived by the virus of English colonialism of its full rights and reduced in its potential (tho' still making a fantastic contribution to human development) for several hundred years. In the words of Bendy Wendy, "Bring it on"!! 8)

Mini, I've never found a problem with the Easdale folk - is there a chip on your shoulder?

8)   Well done for bringing out the ULTIMATE insult, PP! I'm NOT a Yorkshireman (popularly defined as a Scotsman with his brains (and generosity) blown out! Any such examples hereabouts?!). 8)

There's a big wide world out there Spiderman. You should stop being so small minded, insular and negative. Yorkshire could also boast its own disproportionate amount of 'world greats'.

You almost sound racist. Why do so many Scots seem to have a chip on their shoulders? You don't see it elsewhere in the UK? And exactly how much of your life have you lived in Scotland anyway?

 8) OK, PP, I forgot you don't do humour.......and I admit that my tongue-in-cheek comment about Yorkshiremen wasn't that funny and, if taken wrongly, could seem a bit racist. The reality is that many of my friends are English and many of these believe in self-government for Scotland. And, though having travelled the world extensively and lived abroad for long periods, by far the majority of my life has been spent in Scotland (despite also intermittently fightin' the Green Goblin and friends in NY). Everywhere you go, no matter how far away, you find Scots making - or having made - a difference - and few with chips on shoulders. Fortunately, your jaundiced view of the Scots isn't borne out in the "big wide world"..... 8) 8)
