Upon Review of the responces to original post

Post by Rough Justice »

Upon Review of the responces to my original post, I decided to severly edit and tone down its content, (Hopefully not personally offending anyone)the spirit of the message, in my opinion, still remains.....................

*ORIGINAL POST, MINUS OBSENITIES*

Fellow Easedalites, Its time our fabled watering-hole was restored to its former glory, and once again all the locals (if that word still holds water in that crazy place) can marvel in all thier drinking glory, whilst supping upon their blandest of ales!! Now, Im no expert, nor, sadly, can i call myself a local anymore, my ferry to brighter shores left many moons ago, but upon my return i was deeply troubled by the state of affairs....So I, along with the feeling of home that was robbed from us by this excuse for a situation, emplore you all, take a stand, remember we and we alone run that place, without drunkurds and good old fashioned families, its merely a lonely flag pole without a Saltire.Let us not be crushed under the yoke of a barely cooked egg,and never may they forget how important to them we infact are, we are their yesterdays bread and butter. Now be that as it may, on paper you certainly have a fine establishment, fine clientell, a fine evening out for you and all the family, just don't expect a tip.............

Thats all Folks

As you may all have guessed

Post by Rough Justice »

As you may all have guessed, my original venting was infact connected with the unexcusable events of late. Thusly I recognise there was, some kind of "almost" altercation between sed propriitor and a local warrior. However I see that from recent history, and from other posts from this very website, that this isnt such a well loved propritor after all. So surely, already with a ton of heat on him, this has done him no favours, at the same time however there must of been copious amounts of alcohol......and we all know what happens when you mix alcohol and sporting events, let alone when you consider its an ENGLAND MATCH.....IN A SCOTTISH F*CKIN PUB!!! where your average punter ratio has a mix of both. This in no way excuses any goings on, but is this really the future for the ONLY PUB in Easdale, or with the future of this particular establishment up in the air, is it the beggining of a major shift, Only time will tell...........

Untill Justice needs served again, my work here is done.......................

The disgaceful behaviour we witnessed Saturday evening in the Woolpack made me ashamed to be a Scot.

The altercation was a direct result of ongoing verbal chipping at the English which is both peurile and xenophobic.

RJ seems to be implying that the whole affair was justifiable, or at least the build up to the loss of temper, because people were watching an England match in a "Scottish F*ckin pub". And why on earth shouldn't they? This is their home as much as his. Does RJ want to introduce a law whereby in, say, welsh pubs one can only watch welsh matches etc? Get a grip.

Behaviour like this amongst the more mature people of places like Edinburgh are seen by them as a throw back to the days when we believed that the way to show our Scottishness is by expressing a hatred of our neighbours and by the attitude that our woes are all their fault so that gives us an excuse not to get off our arses to do something about our problems, local or national.

People who continue with these racist, anti English, attitudes only cause division and conflict (as we saw) and, I believe, have no place in a modern, multicultural, Scotland.

i am in actual shock, having read some of these comments!!

Is anyone aware of the fact that the local warrior in question...IS NOT SCOTTISH????How the f**k can novus say that he's ashamed to be scottish because of this?? u need to get ur facts straight... it is absolutely ridiculous! ANd i believe the "warrior" was on his way out of the pub, returning home when was chased after, after not retaliating to a jibe from the proprieter?!!!

Now tell me, would there have been such a crowd holding the proprieter back, if he infact had any real reason to go after the warrior? and the fact that a young girl was involved and in result got a burst lip? (Im sorry but that is thuggish and appalling)

Now don't get me wrong...i think it is fair enough to be showing the RUgby world cup FINAL in the pub.... but when (as a scottish person) who has sat through absolute rippings of the scots in that place and have found at times to be the only Scot in there...it gets a bit much when the week prior there are 2 international football games onn at the same time(England and Scotland) Who would expect which game to be on??? (the Scottish game was apparently on in the end, was it pressure..or were all who were concerned just too busy to actually watch it?)

I'm sure the warrior was not completely innocent in perhaps provoking a drink fuelled proprieter...who has indeed deep passion for his country(England in this case) and his great Love for the game.

But what I don't get is what has happened on here, the forum.

The main point in all of this...the "warrior" was not Scottish.

And this watching the England game in a Scottish F**kin pub is ridiculous..nothing to do with it.

As i said before, I have sat in there and listened to all the English slagging the Scots......but have never seen any Proud Scot chasing after an English person wanting to beat the s**t out of them...

So how can it be fair to not let anyone express their thoughts and concerns over this particular matter(Even when being Scottish/English really actually has no relevance).

The sooner we have seperate governments, and we become Independant the better.

Tinkerbell old chap, I am fully aware of the nationality/background of the so called warrior and that is why I drew an example of Welsh pubs.

You clearly miss the point of my post which was to express (again) my disgust at the xenophobia and anti English racism which is deep seated in the psyche of a few of my fellow countrymen. When this attitude is actioned, as it was on Saturday, it leads to conflict.

The anti Englishness often appears in subtle ways on this forum. Who is it who sometimes adds a tag to his posts along the lines of knowing no Scots who want to be English but many English who want to be Scots? Not only a gross generalisation but also an implicit statement that in someway way being a Scot is better than being English. Three well known Scots immediately spring to mind to put a lie to the statement; Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Kelvin MacKenzie - all of whom appear to have either become or really want to be English.

On one point I do agree with you Tinkerbell. Scotland should be independent and, equally, England should be independent. Maybe, then, those few of my compatriats who, irrationally, continue to hate the English will have one of their cause celebres removed and perhaps, then, we can start to live in harmony at last.

B*llocks!

An A*sehole is an A*sehole is an A*rsehole in any language!

Using race, creed, colour or religion as a smokescreen to inflame bigger debates is a low as the blow that gave that young woman a "fat lip".

NOS - you should be ashamed of yourself!
Violent, aggresive and threatening behaviour just isn't acceptable - to give it creedance by inflaming a nationalist debate is out of order.

Perhaps the issue you should all be discussing is the fitness or otherwise of said individual to hold a license to sell intoxicating liquor.

Section 17 of the Licensing Act (Scotland) makes it clear to me!

I understand that everyone needs to vent their frustrations somewhere but is it not slightly odd doing it over the computer instead of to the people involved? Clearly there are issues with all involved and the sooner you hear it from the horse's mouth the sooner the whole debate can clear up. It was interesting at first but now it appears to have taken a turn in to the darkside!

Mrs Eric go on yersel . Personalities are the key here and the wee wool-packer has a bad one, Seil to her own detriment probably has always been welcoming to incomers what used to be called white settlers infact you could call me one. Little Alepacker has a bad attitude and the flack hes getting is well deserved. I wonder how his anti scots feelings would go down in the Neast of Scotland i imagine they wouldn't and he`d have moved on by now.

My personal opinion would agree with the thought of pressing charges but at the end of the day my whole piont is that it's up to the people involved, both to clear the matter up and to choose the legal route.

I think its about time someone else caused some controversy, after all thats what seil folk do isn't it?!?!
