Anybody having trouble with an epson pinter and getting the following message and symptoms.
If your printer blinks both lights and displays a message to the effect that parts inside your printer have reached the end of their servicable life, then you probably need to clean the waste ink pads. These pads collect waste ink whenever the printer cleans it's heads. The printer counts how much ink it thinks is in the waste ink pads and refuses to print when they are full.
You don't even need to replace the pads, just reset the counter that stopped the printer from working.
PM me if you require any help or assistance it's all free and I mean FREE

Good tip
This is an excellent tip El Toro, especially if all people are using their printer for is text and basic documents.
The only thing I would add is that new printers are so cheap today, and with so much better photo printing capability, that for people who want to print their digital pix it might be a good time to think of chucking your old Epson away and getting a new printer.

new printers for old
I agree with you Nick about the old Epson C40 C42 etc but all Epson printers including the latest photo printers, are all programmed to stop working as soon as the counter reaches 8,301. so no matter how old or new the printer is, I still believe you should get out, of what you paid for it.
rather than having to throw it away.

Re: Problems with Epson Printers
I'm a wee tad late with this response, but you can get a Reset Utility CD Rom which enables you to reset the counters on these printers.
