I cant imagine it being discontinued after all that expenditure ... so wonder if you are winding us up Nick. In any case went out and planted a reed bed in the rain this afternoon in case we have to revert to a ecological non mains sewage system . Smiling to myself at how much the neighbours might like the smell
The Community Council would like to remind you of the next public meeting which will be at 7pm on Tuesday 24th March. This meeting will include presentations on the Argyll Sea Kayak Trail, and on New Waste Water Proposals for Seil. These projects could affect you - now's your chance to come along to find out what's going on.
Thanks for your information regarding the agenda items for the next community council meeting
on 24 /3 15
It goes without saying that the future / present effectiveness of the sewage system is a major concern
to many of us on the island
As I will be unable to attend this meeting could I ask you or any other seil forum 'posters'to submit a brief report of the discussion on this thread ?
I say this as it seems to take several weeks/months for the minutes from these meetings to be become common knowledge
.
So - I understand that the treatment works is to be converted to a pumping station and that all sewage from this side of the island is to be pumped over the hill to a large septic tank at Seaview, where waste water of a lower quality can be legally discharged to sea.
Scottish Water were told repeatedly their £12 million system would not work. Let's hope they know what they are doing this time eh?
