Time to remind ourselves who caused the current crisis

Post by NickB »

This hard-hitting and well-made video from McVey will not be everyone's cup of tea. If you are of a far right persuasion or think we should have a new bank holiday in honour of the Blessed Margaret I suggest you don't watch it - it could raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I will just say that again. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO. Seil Chat is not a public television channel. You do not have to visit this site. Even if you do visit you do not have to click the 'Play' icon on this video. If you feel that you will find the content incomprehensible or repellent then the answer is clear - simply don't watch it. I really do not want to upset anyone.

It's not strictly anything to do with independence - but it is a reminder of how we got where we are. For those of us fortunate enough to live in Scotland voting YES on September 18th is a logical way out of this dark place we are currently in.

And while we are on the subject of bankers . . .

There's a new pro-Union campaigning group in town. Called NoBorders, it is well-funded and obviously has a half-decent creative manager. To date it has concentrated on producing videos of 'ordinary people' speaking for a NO vote.

So who is behind it?

Well, it's a guy called Malcolm Offord. He's a millionaire investment banker and hedge fund manager who works mostly in London and whose home address is in London. In 2009 he published a report entitled 'Bankrupt Britain', which seeks to pin the blame on benefit claimants and the public sector. He is a Conservative Party donor to the tune of £100,000.

While we are on the subject of NoBorders, here's a splendid bit of irony for you.

There's a band called Flowers of Union working with NoBorders. 'Flowers of Union Ltd' lists as a director one Fiona Gilmore. Gilmore previously worked for the Israeli government on a rebranding exercise which conveniently airbrushed out the fact that the country was in the process of illegally expanding its borders by building a barrier through large areas of Palestinian land.

She’s now a director of the No Borders campaign. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Oh dear Nick, you are at it again.
Out to discredit and ridicule anyone who dares to oppose your espoused cause.
This may backfire on you a bit as readers realise that YES can do no wrong, and NO can do no right in your eyes, which is patently unsustainable.

All I post are facts Jim.

What are you objecting to this time ?

I hope you didn't watch the video - I specifically warned you not to.

Please point out anything I have said in this thread that is inaccurate or unthruthful.
