Don't worry. We'll kick him out as soon as we've voted for independence.

Democracy, not oligarchy. Vote YES.

Democracy, not oligarchy.
Yes, yes, yes, a fairer, more equal society where you can all be poorer living on the wrong side of a Two Tier Britain. Permanently.

Are you really too churlish to acknowledge Peter's point?

That Salmond is not the future absolute ruler of Scotland, merely the head of a political party who can be removed by the will of the people ?

I ask you again. List ten reasons why you believe that Scotland would be worse off as an independent country.

No, I'm not. Point accepted.

Will you accept the point that the people of Scotland are being promised a better future based on a load of untruths?

Will you, Innes, accept the point that the people of Scotland have the ability to make up their own minds?

They have the opportunity. I don't think it is right that a tiny minority in the UK have been given the chance to destroy it. But if the people were told the truth I might accept the situation more easily. But the Yes campaign have been dishonest and misleading in their claims and that is no basis for a fair referendum.

You clearly haven't been listening to the news;

1) An independent Scotland will not be in a currency union with the Pound
2) An independent Scotland will not immediately be in the EU, if at all.
3) Interest rates will be higher because of 1)
4) Import and export costs will rise because of 2)
5) Tax rates will be different between rUK and Scotland causing
6) Businesses to move to a more favourable economy such as rUK (now the fastest growing economy in the G7)
7) The brain drain south will speed up
8) Scotland will be isolated on the periphery of Europe
9) Oil revenues will plunge
10) An aging population will be a drain on resources
11) Taxes will have to rise to pay for the Yes Campaign's promises.
12) The oil fund won't happen...........

and we'll be left with a two tier Britain.

Now please give me proof why all of these won't happen.

It's a wish-list.

Innes wants all these bad things to happen to an independent Scotland.

Nope, it's the opposite of a wish list, I don't want them to happen. That's why I don't want Scotland to separate, because, through the dishonesty and deception of the Yes Campaign, that is what is likely to happen. It's about economics.

Nick, it really is time you answered some of the questions I have asked about the honesty and integrity of the Yes Campaign without being evasive. Just like the Yes Campaign.

I say to anyone other than Nick's cronies who may read this, look back and see how evasive Nick is and see how it mirrors the Yes Campaign's policy to mislead the Scottish public. Look at how they repeatedly fail to answer the hard questions. Look at how they make promises that do not stand up to scrutiny. Never have the Yes Campaign suggested ANY downsides to independence. And there are some massive downsides. Yet they want you to think there aren't any. Well we all know, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is" don't we? If you are Yes supporter, you would do well to remind yourself of it.

What 'hard questions' have you asked that have not been answered?

Here's one for you. What downsides are there to staying in the union?

You don't get to be in Eurovision.

Now you tell me what downsides there are to an independent Scotland....please.

No-one knows this. Not even you. My guess is a pragmatic solution will be found and Scotland will find itself admitted on the same day it gains its independence. Spain has said it will not block Scotland's entry, and Cameron has said he will support it. Scotland's population are already EU citizens, and there is no provision in the treaties for removing that citizenship. As the situation is brand new it is likely that a brand new solution will be found to deal with it.
Innes Newton wrote:3) Interest rates will be higher because of 1)
But we are going to be in a currency union. A UK minister said so. See the Guardian article I posted in answer to 1) above
Innes Newton wrote:4) Import and export costs will rise because of 2)
And again - not going to happen, see 1) above and 2) above
Innes Newton wrote:5) Tax rates will be different between rUK and Scotland causing ?
Causing what? Crystal balls again Newton. Tax rates in Scotland will be adjusted as necessary.
Innes Newton wrote:6) Businesses to move to a more favourable economy such as rUK (now the fastest growing economy in the G7)
Not yet it isn't . That is an IMF prediction, not a fact. See Here.[/
Innes Newton wrote:7) The brain drain south will speed up
What brain drain? There isn't one. Show your evidence. Just another random phrase dredged up.
Innes Newton wrote:8) Scotland will be isolated on the periphery of Europe
Isolated on the periphery the way Norway, Sweden and Finland are ? (All more prosperous than the UK). Or really, really isolated the way poor old Iceland is ? Oh yes, Iceland is also more prosperous than the UK
Innes Newton wrote:9) Oil revenues will plunge
You have absolutely no way of knowing this. No-one and no organisation has a very good record on predicting oil prices in the medium to long term.
Innes Newton wrote:10) An aging population will be a drain on resources
But Scotland will be encouraging immigrants to do the work and pay the taxes to keep our aging population going. Didn't you read the White Paper?
Innes Newton wrote:11) Taxes will have to rise to pay for the Yes Campaign's promises.
Show me your costings or stop bumping your gums about this.
Innes Newton wrote:12) The oil fund won't happen...........
How is that a downside? We already don't have an oil fund, so the worst that can happen there is no change.

Yawn.

Scotland will not be in a currency union with the UK.

You are coughing up old news to suit your argument. I'm sure you know that within hours that minister who spoke out of turn was corrected.
Chancellor George Osborne and Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander have insisted it is "wrong" to suggest there would be a currency union between the UK and an independent Scotland
Scotland will not be in a currency union with the UK.
Innes Newton

Re: Vote YES for a Two tier Britain

Given that a statement was given within hours to correct that matter, and which was given great prominence in the news, to state again that there will be no currency union with Scotland, by showing that Herald front page are you not trying to mislead people ?

Scotland will not be in a currency union with the rUK

Nick you deleted my post deliberately. Yet again you shy away from the truth. Shameful. You can't face it
