And you think the EU looks so great? That's the sinking barge. Look at Greece, look at Spain (27% unemployed), Cyprus, Italy, France.... even the majority of Germans want to ditch the Euro. It is deeply worrying. The EU was set up supposedly to ensure peace in Europe and ensure World War could never be repeated. Yet it is now creating a cauldron of unrest that politicians are struggling to keep a lid on. It won't take much more before it starts to break up. Yet some in Scotland want to break up the union with the rest of the UK so it has its own powers and join a union that's increasingly pushing to merge its members into a federal European state where individual members will have little control on so many crucial matters. It just doesn't make sense. No wonder the major desertion is that of Scots turning their backs on the Yes Campaign. Only on SeilChat would there appear to be a disproportionate representation of public opinion. What makes people in this area so different and why do they not see what the majority elsewhere see?

A Panelbase poll for the Sunday Times Scotland and Real Radio published in late March had showed a narrowing of the gap to 10 points, with No at 46% and Yes at 36%, with 'don't knows' at 18%.

Support for independence is steady at worst - and the YES campaign and the SNP are keeping their powder dry.

May I interject with some facts re recent leafletting activities in the district including helping out in Taynuilt.

All in all I've been received very well. I've only had two outright refusals to accepting the leaflet.

Without a doubt the majority of local household are undecided and like me and many others, even in the YES campaign, are looking for more information on the major issues. I am assured all will become clear in October/November with the SNP's proposals.

I am staggered by the thoughts of a few who insist on staying in the Union in case North Korea nukes us - oh dear!

Some people say they will not vote SNP - The message has to be got out that this is not an election but a referendum with a simple YES/no answer. Despite all the coverage it's amazing that there are those out there who have not grasped this fact yet! Unbelievable

By far the best one I've had so far is that Alex Salmond does not want independence at all! In fact he is dead against it. The phylosophy behind this is that 'if you don't want something to happen then promote it! Oh dear!

Now for a few possibilites;

(1) There is a 'No' vote in the referendum and at the next Scottish election the SNP are returned either in the majority or with the most votes cast. What happens then?

Or

(2) There is a 'YES' vote and Labour have the most votes cast and can form a government with 'other parties or party' what then?

In the event of option 2, which is a possibility, is it not time that the Scottish Labour Party show us what it proposes for an independent Scotland?

A new Ipsos MORI opinion poll for The Times of 1,000 Scots shows support for Scotland leaving the UK has fallen again.

The gap between those in favour and those against has widened by seven to 28 percentage points, among those certain to vote in the referendum.

Just 31 per cent back independence, down three points since February. Meanwhile 59 per cent of Scots are opposed, up by four points. Just 10 per cent say they are undecided.

No-one has shown I was wrong to point out that the Yes leaflets assertion that we have some of the best universities is very misleading when in fact we only have one in the top one hundred.
