Great result at Murrayfield

Post by NickB »

.
The first half was a bit rubbish, but thanks to ferocious Scottish defending and Laidlaw's excellent kicking we are still in the tournament.

Not quite as exhilarating to watch as the Italy match perhaps, but what a nail-biting finish, and the first back-to-back win at Murrayfield since 2001.

Hi Nick

Yes a great result (against the stats )!! Reminded me of watching Andy Murray in some of his Grand Slam Finals - I was on the edge of my seat during the last five minutes and still question their decision not to kick the ball up the field and out of the danger zone - ha ha !!

Yes two back to back results but HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN about the MAD COW DISEASE outbreak in 2001 - the game against Ireland was postponed until the following season !! Yes Our glorious team did win 2 in a row but not in the same season !!!

I remember well driving down the M6 towards Manchester late March with the stench of burning carcasses !!!

Bring on the Welsh !!!

I have a great memory of shivering in the West Stand back in November 2009 and cheering on Scotland to victories over Australia and a week later over Fiji......was I dreaming or something?

For the pedants among us, my earlier post should of course have read first championship back-to-back win since 2001 . . . and as Snoman points out even that could be questioned, so my apologies to anyone who was confused.

It would be great to make it three with a win against Wales on the 9th, though even saying it feels like tempting fate

Scotland welcome Wales to Murrayfield for their fourth match of the 2013 Six Nations on Saturday - and Wales will be looking to maintain their impressive record against the Scots. The Welsh have won eight of the last nine Six Nations meetings with Scotland.

An unmissable match for sure. Any chance or no chance?
