Just to add my thoughts... The article in the paper last week (18th) may have had a point despite it's bad journalism, front page sensationalism - namely that it is to be questioned whether the money spent has been spent in the most appropriate way. However, that is a question for Scottish Water, wh...

I would be worried if the grey dogs (aka the red barge) was the new ferry.

MV Belnahua is meant to be back anytime now from her repairs, but time is infinitely variable at Cuan.....

Ach c'mon, they were pretty quick coming out to fix it (within the hour) and everyone knows what a state the water pipes in, i'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Just wait until the 18th June for the real fun to begin!! :)

What's the big deal about maternity leave? Nice to see somebody's keeping Scotland's birth rate up. She's still the elected member, so her seat isn't going to be taken by someone while she's gone! (and a minority government's much the same with 46 or 47 seats, i.e. you're relying on others to pass a...

It did seem to be a bit complicated, judging by the time it seemed to be taking everyone in the booths down at the hall when I was there, but maybe they were just having a good dither over the choice. Nice to see that we have finally elected a consituency MSP that will get things done, rather than s...

The badgers were last seen boarding a highland heritage bus outside C. John's. After two nights in the Cleaver luxury hotel in Dalmally (where they enjoyed the bar and highland show), they are now safely back in Lancashire, residing in a retirment home just outside Leyland. The badger known as 'Og' ...

There is still the malevolent poltergeist that keeps tearing lumps of tarmac out of the road. He (or she) is yet to be exorcised by the Council roads department.

I wonder if C. John's could be designated like everywhere else (as per the current vogue). Personally I think a UNESCO World Heritage site would be right on the mark. Us locals could tout the buses for guided tours of the guilded treasures and Easdale and Seil would benefit from the thousands that w...

Re: Designated paths

More pertinent to Seil, why has no-one done anything about the gentleman at Cuan who has (completely illegally) fenced off the foreshore thus preventing folk walking round the shore to Ballachuan? Anyone wanting to challenge this kind of blocking should contact the Access officers at Argyll & B...

I think it's great to get people out and about, enjoying all that Scotland's countryside has to offer. My worry with this is that Scotland seems to be trying to 'catch up' with the system down south where there are designated paths/bridleways etc that are ultimately marked down on Ordnance Survey ma...

Core Paths Consultation

Just had a look at the above on the council website. Is it just me (being grumpy as usual!) or is this not a big waste of time? I have walked extensively throughout Argyll, and other parts of Scotland, and have never once had any problems with access, and routefinding has usually just been a case of...

Have already, but is there any point when you know there is little chance of a referendum on the issue? The MNP is a 'done deal' politically and will be upon us in 2008 whatever us locals think about it.

P.S. I wasn't moaning, just stating facts as they stand, and roll on the wind park!
