Furthermore, many young people of my acquaintance won't go anywhere where Wi-Fi is not available and they check in advance.

Re: Proposed Clachan Windfarm - Planning Application No. 11/

I'm pretty sure that the 'Yes' campaign is the call for the immediate resignation of the Eilean Eisdeal directors.

Re: Stone Skimming cancelled

The following article seems to be a well balanced summing up of the situation, http://forargyll.com/2012/09/third-parties-ensure-easdales-stone-skimming-championships-goes-ahead/ although it does still leave the question of the inadequate policing of the anti-social and criminal behaviour that this ...

I see that the link on this site to Mike Mackenzie Builders Ltd no longer works correctly, if the company is to be dissolved by companies house then this link should be removed from the site.

The method that has a true bearing on the planning application are those representations that are submitted to Argyle & Bute Planning with regard to the planning application.

Re: Seil - an alternative way forward

. If ever there was a pig in a poke this is it. However, perhaps there is some other route towards a community tidal energy project for Cuan. Community Energy Scotland might be a good starting point for some advice if any person or group wanted to explore this option further. This point has been ma...

Re: Seil - an alternative way forward

I agree with Beetlejuice. I can understand Nova Innovation having initial discussions with members of the Isle of Luing Community Trust as representatives of the Luing community. I can also understand Nova Innovation having initial discussions with members of the Seil & Easdale Community Council...

Re: Seil - an alternative way forward

I concur with Minimum. Eilean Eisdeal are certainly not the appropriate people to proceed with the investigation, they have no technical expertise and do not represent the Easdale Isdland community, the islanders have absolutely no faith in Eilean Eisdeal whatsoever. It is a pity that Community Ener...

Re: A summary of Saturday's presentation

. There has been a summary (PDF file) of Saturday's meeting posted on the Easdale People site HERE What does the turbine look like? Would it be visible? Nova response: Nova allow at least 15m clearance to the water surface, but tend to put them deeper. The North Yell turbine is a 3-bladed horizonta...

Nova Innovation Presentation It is interesting to note the attendees at this meeting held on 7th April. Whilst Luing had two represenatives from the Luing CC working group and three attendees from the Luing Community Trust there were no represenatives from the SECC. The SECC have a duty to both the...

Re: Seil - an alternative way forward

Hope this is useful :- An MCT style machine is not suitable for Cuan, but a wholly submerged design - particularly of the shrouded turbine type rather than the 'underwater windmill' design - would be. Something llike this from Open Hydro, curently testing at EMEC. MCT stands for Marine Current Turbi...
