Local income tax

I honestly beleive that a local income tax could be the death nell for Argyll and Bute. With the combination of low wages and high percentage of retired citizens doubled by the fact that there are many holiday homes, the prospect of considerably less money for Argyll and Bute Council would mean huge...

Re: Tell us more . . .

I have heard rumblings about the alleged hassles caused by this event to the genteel inhabitants of Seil - but are they real or imagined? Apart from the chocolate corner, anything else to report anyone? .....yes, I picked up some needles and disposed of them properly as I really didn't fancy anybod...

Fire and Rescue Service

Why is it that many remote areas of Argyll have nice new well equiped fire stations, while Seil is left with a garden shed? Surely we deserve better or do we have to wait until there is a serious house fire or God forbid a fatality before Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service find enough in their budg...

Oyster Brewery

Wrong continent but not a bad effort.

Can't deny that the brewery is a useful asset for the community re employment etc but to me being involved requires more than lining your own pocket. And the fact that it stinks is a fact, not a matter of opinion and not just my opinion.

Oyster Brewery

Is it true that the brewery has been sold? Will it be made into flats? will it remain a smelly old dive with crap beer or will we end up with something that is of use to the community? ....and with owners who would like to be involved in the community?

Wildlife Crime

Sometimes I really wonder how rumours start, but now I know. I have never seen as many otters around the island for quite a few years, in fact they have even been seen walking down the street in Ellenabeich recently! As for badgers, numbers have definately declined but don't blame the landowners wit...
