Ah, if the claim is going to be made, maybe some pics are called for? Try certain parts of the southwest in the U.S. where homes are painted turquoise, lavendar, pistachio, or pink (but thankfully not all four at once, at least not that I've seen).

How do the "locals" of this island define themselves? I would hope that they define themselves as being kind of local because they have had family on the island for more than one generation, at least, but then maybe I’m just old fashioned or too local for the new breed of settler! As some...

Yes, I saw that thread. I'd say vampire but I shift in my sleep, so I guess the choice was made already for me.

Of course, I'm sitting in my basement with my laptop while the tornado sirens go off, so I'm not thinking about geneology right now, either :-)
