.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport have demanded that these recently placed - and fully paid for - Glasgow subway ads be taken down as they 'contravene its rules on “political” advertising. '

Censorship is alive and well in Scotland.

You say 37 papers in Scotland don't support Independence. You infer some or all of these back Scotland support the 'No' Campaign.

Which of the 37 papers are biased in favour of the 'No' Campaign?

I didn't write the ad.

My comment was on the fact that it was about to be pulled.

But since you ask . . . The Herald is the closest to being neutral. All the others are lackeys of the NO campaign.

If SPT ban all political advertising that is not unfair to the Yes Campaign. In theory the Bannockburn event also wants to ensure the event is non-political and would not permit the same thing or a Wings over Scotland Stand, parade or demonstration at the event. It's not censorship. Wings can go and be as political as they like elsewhere.

I quite agree.

But . . . look what SPT is distributing to its passengers today, in the form of a full page ad in the freesheet The Metro, which is strewn about the subway liberally :

If that isn't hypocrisy I don't know what is.

Well, Yes and No! In fact, on consideration, No!

If SPT's policy is that they do not allow political advertising on their billboards it's not the same thing as dictating what goes inside the covers of The Metro, a free newspaper, distributed throughout the city. No doubt Wings Over Scotland can take out a full page in the Metro if they wish, and SPT will not ban it from being distributed on their system

I'm sure that SPT draw the line with what goes on the advertising boards but even allow Yes Campaigners to go on their transports system and talk to other passengers about politics and Scottish Independence without gagging them and throwing them off, and even permitting them to utter the word, "Yes"!

As a neutral on the subject (haha, I crack myself up sometimes) ....but seriously I genuinely feel that everyone in the debate is getting fair coverage. If it seems to be tilted in favour of the "No's " I think that it is because there are now more "No's" making their feelings felt. Too long they have been the silent majority but they have been stung into action by a minority who picked a fight most would prefer they had never had to be involved in.

Looks like Wings got pretty good value from the ads, with a full refund and the story featured on the BBC, STV and Guardian websites in some detail.

As there has been a vacuum on this page for 24 hours or more (most unusual in this ding- dong, here are some observations by an outsider.
The two protagonists - Nick Bowles and Innes Newton have been going at it hammer and tongs since Mr Salmond announced the divorce date.
And passably interesting at times it has been.
However I would like to draw attention to the most recent pronouncement from the Bowles camp -" For once you have got it right Innes".
This would suggest that everything coming from the "No" persuasion is a pack of lies and is pure scarermongering, and that the output from the "Yes" side is absolute gospel, and cannot be disputed.
Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence knows that there are two sides to any debate and to take a stance that is blind to reason on any counter arguments, will, I think, be counter productive to the cause.
Another thing, while I have the floor, presumably from here on in, we are going to have weekly, or even daily, polls on voting intentions, and these will be siezed on by either side which finds them favourable. About the only good thing that can be said for all this polling activity is that it probably keeps the few individuals conducting them off the dole queue.
