In light of the compassionate release by the Scottish government of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi would the same compassion be extended to Ian Brady [who wishes to return home and just today has been taken to hospital] after independence? Will some sort of prisoner exchange treaty need to be organised?

I agree.

Brady (despite the fact he sadly showed no famous compassion when torturing and slaughtering the little children) should be released.

Don't forget though that the Lockerbie bomber was probably released on compassionate grounds because we wanted to cover up the fact that he was the victim of a miscarriage of Scottish justice.

There's also the Blair/Gadaffi/Salmond connection to remember too.

Blair got the BP oil contract.

Gaddaffi got the Lockerbie bomber home.

Salmond got.....well ? We may have to wait a while for the truth to come out but its rather coincidental that at that time investigative journos started hacking into Salmond's bank accounts; Salmond admitted that at the Leveson inquiry
